![]() ![]() I am running 2019 MacBook Pro 16" Big Sur 11. It has been mentiond 5 times since March 2021. ![]() Because I previously purchased it (used to be a one off payment) I get a lifetime subscription and I understand they needed a pricing restructure to continue to develop the product - but. Happy to go that path if you think it will sort me out. VS GlassWire GlassWire free firewall software and network monitor can detect threats other miss. Based on our record, Little Snitch should be more popular than GlassWire. Ive been using paid Glasswire for over a year now, I honestly dont think its worth the subscription price personally. I have TripMode installed but it struggles with the history look, I also have explored LittleSnitch, but could not tell if it gave the full picture. ![]() I fear there is some sort of malware or another process that has been installed that is acting as a bit of a resource vampire that has hidden well enough from the usual activity monitor filters I have been using. It can be used to monitor applications, preventing or permitting them to connect to attached networks through advanced rules. Is there an application out there that people trust that can monitor and log what apps and/or processes are using data and when? It would be nice to get a picture over a couple of days to see what is going on. Little Snitch is a host-based application firewall for Mac OS X. Most of its cloud backup services are synched and when you look at the activity monitor I can't get a complete enough picture to see what is driving the usage. Once installed, Little Snitch monitors your internet traffic and every time it detects an outbound connection, for example, Adobe Reader trying to access the internet, it pops up a window and ask you if you want to allow the connection one time, or make a rule to allow. Odd thing is that the laptop does not seem to be running anything thing that should be uploading that much. Little Snitch is a popular Mac app that detects outbound connections and lets you set up rules to block those connections. I was surprised to see one of our family's laptops uploading a ton of data. We just installed Eero and it has the ability to report which devices are using how much data. ![]()
